anti-aging

The term aging expresses a phenomenon that includes various developmental processes that occur in every organism (multicellular animals) and in humans in particular during all stages of life. The phenomenon of aging has physical, mental and emotional aspects that are expressed in each of us in a different way.

The aging process affects the quality and life expectancy of our lives.

The term anti-aging refers to a variety of coping measures to delay the aging process. This is an extensive field that deals with the research of delaying and preventing the aging process, preventing wear and tear in the living systems, as mentioned, of the entire organism, and of us humans in particular.

Today, it is possible for us to take responsibility for our lives, for the quality of our lives, actively and simply, thereby delaying our aging process in all its meanings.

Some of the measures to delay the aging process -

adherence to sports

Avoiding smoking (active and passive)

Good nutrition

Consumption of vitamins / food supplements

Antioxidant intake

Hormonal treatments

Medical follow-up and routine tests

Proper nutrition is an important component in maintaining our life systems and delaying the aging process, the influence of nutrition is manifested starting from our exterior to internal physical processes. Our diet plays an important role in all the functions of the body. The food that enters our body leaves its marks for better and for worse, so we need to pay more attention to the ingredients of our diet.

The food we eat goes through a process of processing into energy, in this process the body produces substances called free radicals. These substances "prompt" the aging process and even lead to the appearance of certain diseases. To neutralize these free radicals, the body uses antioxidants that come from enzymes or minerals in the food we eat, and of course vitamins.

Regarding vitamins - antioxidants that contribute to and delay the aging process are - vitamin A, vitamin B6, B12, vitamin C, vitamin E, beta carotene, folic acid and selenium.

Regarding nutrition - a wonderful and best source of antioxidants are the fruits and vegetables. Their daily consumption is recommended, of course it is possible and recommended to use food supplements. The most important are vitamin A, zinc, omega 3 and 6, and vitamin C.

In our 20s, the body gradually stops producing a sufficient amount of the Q10 enzyme, it is a very strong antioxidant that is important for the proper functioning of the cells and, of course, for delaying the appearance of wear and tear in the living systems.

Enzyme Q10 affects the healing of wounds, better digestion, protection against diseases, for example - heart, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. Enzyme Q10 is also important for skin vitality. Studies have shown that it penetrates the cells quite easily and prevents the thinning of the skin and wrinkles.

Good sources of Q10 enzyme are internal organs such as heart and liver, soybeans, sardines...

A food supplement that contains antioxidants is alpha lipoic acid (ALA). This acid is found in small amounts in the body, but is considered even better than vitamin E and C. It is the only antioxidant that can eliminate the activity of free radicals, which are soluble in water or fat. If you take vitamin C, enzyme Q10, or vitamin E in combination with alpha lipoic acid, it's even better for everyone. A natural source of alpha-lipoic acid are potatoes, carrots, broccoli, yeast and red meat.

Selenium, another antioxidant, has the function of protecting the skin from aging and sun damage. Lack of selenium in the body will not directly lead to disease, it will only make the immune system much more sensitive. When we have enough of it, we are less prone to age-related diseases, such as arthritis or heart disease. It is found in Brazil nuts, brown rice, salmon, oysters, broccoli, garlic, liver and dairy products.

From many studies done on the subject, it was recommended to include in our diet:

On a daily basis fruits and vegetables, whole wheat cereals, low-fat dairy products, nuts, seeds and olive oil.

On a weekly basis eggs, poultry, legumes and fish.

You can give up red meat, fat, sugar, cakes, pastries, sweets, white bread and pasta completely. It is not about a diet but about a healthy diet and quality of life. In addition, it is recommended to eat less and drink a lot of water, to combine foods of different colors with each meal (at least five) and to do everything necessary to improve the digestive processes, even if it means using supplements.

As mentioned, we learn that maintaining a good quality of life and fighting the aging process is possible and simple to do. We must take responsibility for our lives!
